CUTERA LIMELIGHT IPL IN NYC
The Cutera LimeLight IPL is a medical-grade, non-invasive light therapy device designed to address a variety of skin concerns, including age spots, freckles, redness, visible veins, and sun damage. It is especially effective for treating telangiectasia (dilated capillaries), which often appear as reddish or purple clusters, particularly around the nose, cheeks, or décolleté. If you have visible “spidery” veins or areas of discoloration, contact us to learn how light-based treatments can enhance the appearance of your skin. It’s also an excellent option for treating sun-damaged décolletage.
- Reduces solar lentigines and skin pigmentation
- Evens out skin tone
- Restores a youthful glow to the skin
- Minimizes vascular lesions
- Minimal to no downtime
- U.S. FDA cleared for treating benign pigmented and vascular lesions
The LimeLight Facial is a gentle, non-invasive treatment that targets skin redness and uneven pigmentation using Cutera’s LimeLight device. It is ideal for addressing benign pigmented lesions and vascular lesions, improving skin tone, and correcting surface imperfections caused by aging and sun exposure.
The LimeLight Facial can be used on the face, neck, and décolleté, especially for treating redness, tiny veins (telangiectasia), and brown spots. Even light brown spots that were previously hard to treat respond well to this procedure.
Typically, 2 to 3 sessions are recommended for optimal pigmentation reduction. Depending on your specific skin concerns, additional treatments for freckles, sun damage, or wrinkles may be more suitable.

Does it hurt?
When the pulse of light is delivered, patients will experience a mild pinching or stinging sensation. Gel is recommended to cool the skin before vascular treatments. Anesthesia or pain medicine is typically not required.
How many treatments will I need?
This can vary from patient to patient but we generally recommend 1-3 treatments. Is it safe?
Is it safe?
Unlike many IPL devices, every Limelight pulse is precisely controlled by a computer, ensuring that energy levels remain consistent and minimizing the risk of both under-treatment and burns.
Additionally, Limelight’s ability to tailor the light spectrum to match your skin type enhances the safety of the treatment.
While other machines may boost energy to target more challenging areas, Limelight adjusts the light band itself, maintaining a lower energy output and significantly reducing the risk of burns.
Is there any downtime?
IPL treatments involve minimal downtime. Any darkened spots or discoloration can be easily covered with makeup if preferred. Typically, darkening and discoloration are most noticeable after the first treatment and become less pronounced with each subsequent session.
Who is a good candidate for IPL?
Patients with lighter skin tones looking to address unwanted freckles, redness, or sun damage are good candidates for Limelight.
When will I see results from IPL?
Most patients see results within 1-3 weeks of the final treatment.
